Oriini Kaipara

Member of Parliament for Tāmaki Makaurau

Te Pāti Māori

Oriini Kaipara (Tūhoe, Ngāti Awa, Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Ngāti Rangitihi) is a familiar face and a trusted voice in many homes across Aotearoa, known for her warmth, integrity, and pioneering spirit. With a career spanning nearly two decades across TVNZ, Māori Television, and Three, Oriini has dedicated her life to sharing stories that matter and championing the beauty of te reo Māori me ōna tikanga. In 2019, Oriini captured hearts worldwide as the first person with a moko kauae to present a mainstream news bulletin—a moment that celebrated identity and belonging on a global stage.

Today, she continues her journey of service as the Member of Parliament for Tāmaki Makaurau, where she brings that same passion and heart to advocating for the well-being of whānau, wāhine, and the next generation.

Guided by the values of her iwi and a deep love for her community, Oriini believes that true leadership is rooted in effort and presence. In her session, *"Leading with Mana,"* she explores the wisdom of this whakataukī, inviting us to consider how authenticity and resilience can transform the way we lead in our own lives and workplaces.
